Dear Mr. McGinley,

Governor Bush has asked me to thank you for your e-mail and respond on his behalf concerning the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Traffic Homicide Investigation involving your son, Kevin McGinley.

Please be assured that this case has been thoroughly investigated by our agency as well as the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and the Tampa Police Department (TPD). In addition, the Florida Highway Patrol convened a multi-agency review panel consisting of the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office, the Hillsborough County Medical Examiners Office, FDLE, FHP and TPD to thoroughly review our handling of this investigation. All inquiries or investigations conducted by other agencies and the review panel concerning our initial investigation of this traffic fatality have supported our original findings.

We are sympathetic to your family and friends of your son regarding this unfortunate situation, and are sorry that you disagree with the results of our investigation concerning the circumstances surrounding the crash.
